Abstract:
Abstract Grid has becoming a new computing paradigm, making intensive data services available. However, the lacking of suitable data transfer mechanism specific to grid environment and the difficulty of manual management of large scale data sets decrease the usability of data grid. In this paper we present a new file transfer method that can both enhance data transfer efficiency and simplify data grid management. We use extended sliding window algorithm to increase the network utility and multiple data stream transfer to realize parallel data transfer, fractional data transfer, and faster retransmission. To simplify and automate data grid management, we elevate FTP to a semantic web service level. Simulated results proved that our method improves data transfer in grid environment.
