Escher’s Sense of Wonder
Anne Hughes
A chapter in M.C. Escher’s Legacy, 2003, pp 63-68 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract To me the moon is a symbol of apathy, the lack of wonderment which is the lot of most people. Who feels a sense of wonder any more when they see her hanging in the heavens? For most people, she is just a flat disk now and then with a bite out of her, nothing more than a substitute for a street lamp. [2]
