A chapter in Digital Economic Dynamics, 2007, pp 119-128 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Compared with the previous year, at the end of 2003 the number of employees in the telecommunications services sector had fallen by 2.2 per cent (5,000) to 226,400. Compared with 2002 the drop in employment was thus lowered by nearly two percentage points, viz. more than 4,000 employees. Decisive for the drop in employees was the reduction in DT’s employees in Germany by 2.5 per cent (4,500) to 173,300. The competitors, on the other hand, have largely kept their employee number constant at 53,100 compared with the previous year.
