A chapter in Traffic and Granular Flow’05, 2007, pp 181-186 from Springer

Abstract: Summary We have experimentally found a method to imprint into paste the direction of future crack propagation in the drying process of paste. The rheological measurement and the drying experiment making morphological phase diagram reveal that the plasticity of paste plays an important role in the memory effect.
