Abstract:
Abstract We deal with a numerical solution of convection-diffusion problems with a nonlinear convection and a quasilinear diffusion. We employ the so-called incomplete interior penalty Galerkin (IIPG) method which is suitable for a discretization of quasilinear diffusive terms. We recall a priori hp error estimates in the L2-norm and the H1-seminorm. We present sets of numerical experiments where the experimental orders of convergence in dependence on the polynomial degree of approximation and the regularity of the exact solution are evaluated and discussed.
