Abstract: Discussion of territorial gaps is of special relevance in regional economics. This explains the stimulus to investigate and identify the economic factors which govern the spatial distribution of economic activity, the attention to the analysis of the processes of territorial development, and the commitment to propose adequate measures to resolve — or at least alleviate — existing difficulties.
