A chapter in Management Models for the Future, 2009, pp 1-17 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Henkel’s social commitment is firmly embedded in its corporate values and its corporate history. Launched in 2005, the Henkel Smile program brings together all aspects of Henkel’s social commitment – internationally known as corporate citizenship – that go beyond its business activities. Henkel Smile unites four modules, one of which is the MIT (Make an Impact on Tomorrow) Initiative, which support the volunteer work of Henkel employees and pensioners. The MIT Initiative focuses in particular on the involvement of employees and pensioners who identify social challenges, develop innovative solutions to these challenges and make them known within the Company. As corporate volunteers, they are active ambassadors of the company at all Henkel sites throughout the world.
