Are Viscoelastic Flows Under Control or Out of Control?
M. Renardy
A chapter in Mathematical Modeling, Simulation, Visualization and e-Learning, 2008, pp 201-208 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We discuss the controllability of viscoelastic shear flows. Both linear and nonlinear results are reviewed. An interesting aspect of the problem is that the nonlinear problem introduces new stress components which are automatically zero in the linear case. It is therefore a challenging problem to determine to what extent these stresses are controllable.
