Abstract: Abstract The coordination of signal controls in a traffic network has a significant impact on throughput and journey times of the vehicles in the network. We present a mixed-integer linear programming model optimizing the coordination, i.e., a model that minimizes waiting times of individual traffic by adjusting the offsets between signals. Compared to existing approaches, our model supports non-uniform cyclelengths of signals and yields optimal solutions (w.r.t. the objective function of our model) in less computation time. We use microsimulation which shows that high quality solutions can be obtained with little computational effort.
