Chapter 11 in The Economics of Counterfeit Trade, 2009, pp 153-165 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we recommend a specific program firms can employ to protect their IP rights (IPR). The action program includes developing a company-wide IP protection strategy; managing the registration of all copyrights, trademarks and patents in key markets; establishing a brand integrity team; monitoring the marketing of fakes through a central information repository; developing a multipronged action plan; preparing to fight pirates through investigative work in conjunction with local law enforcement and a willingness to take legal action.
