Abstract: Auszug Die Mengenlehre, begründet von Georg Cantor in der zweiten Hälfte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts, hat die Mathematik vollkommen verändert. Die Mathematik, wie wir sie heute kennen, ist undenkbar ohne das Konzept einer Menge, oder wie David Hilbert sagte: „Niemand wird uns aus dem Paradies (der Mengenlehre) vertreiben, das Cantor für uns erschaffen hat.“
