Chapter 48 in Operations Research Proceedings 2008, 2009, pp 295-300 from Springer

Abstract: Summary This paper presents a method for the crew recovery problem with the possibility to retime flights to avoid large modifications of the original schedule. In the presented method a new neighborhood search for the crew scheduling problem is embedded in a tabu search scheme. Dynamic programming on leg based networks is used for generation of pairings. We test our method on different crew schedules and disruption scenarios and show the effects of flight retiming.
