Chapter 1 in Technological Innovation Across Nations, 2009, pp 1-10 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This book draws on papers presented at the biannual Technical Meetings between IIASA and TiTech on the “Elucidation of the Role of Institutional Systems in Characterizing Technology Development Trajectories”. Eight meetings, chaired by Professor Dr. ChihiroWatanabe (Tokyo Institute of Technology and IIASA), took place between 2002 and 2006. These meetings offered an interesting blend of applied state-of-the-art studies on the coevolutionary development of institutions, innovation diffusion, and innovative entrepreneurship, which are now being published for the first time.
