Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to discuss the macroeconomic and capital market effects of population ageing and of fundamental pension reforms. The focus is on those European countries that are most affected by population ageing (France, Germany and Italy); the effects in other European countries and the United States are somewhat smaller.
