Chapter 3 in Successful Decision-making, 2009, pp 29-39 from Springer
Abstract:
In practice, finding the solution to a decision problem is often timeconsuming. This is because a great deal of thought is required between the discovery of the problem and the choice of the optimal action. It takes time to grasp the problem, to discover meaningful approaches to the solution and to know which option to go for. Therefore it is appropriate to look at decisions as thought processes and to see rational decisions as the outcome of rational decision-making procedures. We begin by showing how decision-making procedures operate.
