Chapter Chapter 5 in Managed Evolution, 2010, pp 163-186 from Springer
Abstract:
Summary Managed evolution is based on an organizationally holistic approach. The relationship between business and IT plays a key role for the holistic view. A classical, that is a hierarchical and departmental, setup with its corresponding governance model and budget authority is not well suited to managed evolution. A new governance model, the domain-based model, is introduced and is shown to work best for managed evolution. The roles and processes for business-IT alignment, on the three layers of strategic alignment, project portfolio alignment and project alignment, are described in this chapter.
