Abstract: Abstract An efficient and accurate numerical scheme, based on Finite Volumes and WENO (Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory) techniques, is used to implement a one-dimensional model of the venous network of the inferior limb, that includes a suitable modelling of venous valves. The model is applied to the physiological as well as to the pathological situation, with data obtained experimentally using an Echo-Color Doppler device.
