Chapter Chapter 7 in Founding a Company, 2010, pp 107-133 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the chapter on Italy, the authors Sergio Finulli and Michael J. Munkert start with a short introduction into the general laws and regulations with regard to setting up and running a business. They use the general analysis framework for the handbook on legal forms in Europe to analyse six legal forms: the informal partnership (Società semplice – S.s.), the general partnership (Società in nome collettivo – S.n.c.), the limited partnership (Società in accomandita semplice – S.a.s), the limited liability company (Società a responsabilità limitata – S.r.l.), the joint-stock company (Società per azioni – S.p.A.) and the Partnership limited by shares (Società in Accomandita Per Azioni – S.a.p.a.). The authors conclude their discussions with an evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of the different legal forms.
