A chapter in Gösta Mittag-Leffler, 2010, pp 265-276 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In love and feeling happy and optimistic, Mittag-Leffler was back in his home town in early June 1881. On June 11 came the official announcement that he had been appointed professor of pure mathematics at Stockholm College, without obligation to teach in mechanics. The date when he would begin was September 1, and he immediately started making plans for his teaching and the future of the school.
