Abstract: Abstract We develop a mathematical model of air flow and pollution transport in a 2D street canyon. The model is based on Navier–Stokes equations for viscous incompressible flow and convection–diffusion equation describing pollution transport. The solution is obtained by means of finite element method (FEM). We use the non-conforming Crouzeix–Raviart elements for velocity, the piecewise constant elements for pressure, and the piecewise linear elements for concentration. The resulting linear systems are solved by multigrid methods. We present computational studies of air flow and pollutant dispersion.
