Abstract:
Abstract Virtual reality can be described as a synthetic 3D computer-generated universe that is a perceived as the real universe. The key technologies behind virtual reality systems (VRS) and virtual-environment systems (VES) are Real-time computer graphics Color displays Advanced software Computer graphics techniques have been successfully applied for creating synthetic images, necessary for virtual reality and virtual-environmental systems. Creating an image, using computer graphics techniques, can be done by storing 3D objects as geometric descriptions, which can then be converted into an image by specific information of the object, such as color, position, and orientation in space, and from what location it is to be viewed. Real-time computer graphics techniques allow the user to react within the time frame of the application domain, which finally results in a more advanced man machine interface, which is the whole rationale for virtual reality systems and virtual-environments.
