Chapter Chapter 8 in Sustainable Management, 2011, pp 165-189 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In management studies the term “resources” is widely used. On closer inspection, the term conveys an implicit rationality for the application of resources. Thus, the principles of a sustainable resource management encounter a use of the term resource being contradictory to the logic of sustainability. In this chapter the different terms and axioms of resources will be introduced and will be differentiated from a sustainable treatment of resources. The objective is to answer the question whether management studies are on a way towards a resource-oriented business image or not.
