Abstract:
Abstract I’d just like to clarify one thing first: This author doesn’t like cans, irrespective of their content. The energy consumption during their production and recycling is just too high. But our problem can be solved much more easily with a can because of its great symmetry. A mathematician sees a can as a cylinder. A bottle has this awkward neck, which, if it were to be described precisely, might cause us a headache. That’s why we’ll focus first on a can. Later on, we’ll see how we can transfer some of these comments to a bottle.
