Chapter 9 in Quantum Field Theory III: Gauge Theory, 2011, pp 557-643 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We want to use the method of orthonormal frames in order to define the gradient grad Θ of a smooth temperature field Θ, and both the divergence, div v, and the curl, curl v, of a smooth velocity vector field v on the Euclidean manifold $\mathbb{E}^{3}$ . The physical meaning of grad Θ, div v, and curl v will be discussed in Sect. 9.1.4.
