A chapter in European Success Stories in Industrial Mathematics, 2011, pp 67-84 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In 2006 Volvo Car Corporation initiated together with the Swedish automotive industry and Vinnova a research project on developing software for simulation of processes in automotive paint shops. The software development was done by the Fraunhofer-Chalmers Research Centre for Industrial Mathematics (FCC) and the first version of the virtual spray painting tool was released in 2009.
