Abstract: Abstract In this lecture I Will describe some recent results on stability of minimal submanifolds in a Riemannian manifold. Although I have covered a large segment of the literature, no claim is made of this being an extensive survey on the topic of the title. I rather organized the lecture around two main problems and picked up the results as they fitted in this general plan.
