A chapter in Raising Public Awareness of Mathematics, 2012, pp 167-185 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The traveling exhibition IMAGINARY by the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach explores interaction and participation in math communication. We present the key experiences made from over 40 exhibitions in several countries and introduce the open source exhibition platform. Using this platform everybody will be invited to copy and exchange material, stage their own exhibitions and add new ideas. Through a selected case study of activities we show the future potential of IMAGINARY and the platform designed to engage a broad audience and make them part of the math communication and math popularization process.
