Abstract:
Abstract The choice of an appropriate location for a logistics facility (i.e. a warehouse, a transshipment point or a production site) is one of the first and most important planning tasks when designing and configuring a logistics network. The choice of location requires the facility’s geographic positioning relative to its suppliers, its customers, and its service providers. Decisions about locations affect transport, warehousing, and transshipment costs and conditions.
