A chapter in The Roots of Logistics, 2012, pp 287-315 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The question of how to protect the functioning of logistics systems from risk, crises, extreme uncertainty or “strategic surprise” – as Igor Ansoff (1918–2002) called it – is another of the priorities of the field. The events of “9-11”, natural catastrophes, and the general increase in the volatility of the global economy have been adding urgency recently.
