Abstract: Abstract Friendship could very well be the most important type of relationship between people. It is not the most intimate one. Relationships between spouses, siblings, etc., could be more tight that many friendships, but from a quantitative point of view, for any normal social actor friendship is by far the most important type of relationship with other people.
