Abstract: Abstract The purpose of this study is to establish an assessment model for hydrogen storage technologies and examine its applicability. The model is based on multicriteria decision making (MCDM). Evaluation criteria that conform to government policies are adopted. The model involves the use of criteria weights assigned by experts, and a constrained least-squares method to obtain a compromise set of weights; appropriate hydrogen storage technology options are subsequently determined by using the weights. The model indicates that metal hydride technology is the most appropriate for Taiwan. Therefore, this technology should be given top priority for further development in order to promote industrialization.
