Abstract: Abstract A second order finite volume scheme for numerical solution of Maxwell’s equations with discontinuous dielectric permittivity on prismatic meshes is suggested. The scheme is based on the approaches of Godunov, Lax-Wendoff and Van Leer. The key feature of the scheme is gradient calculation and limitation that guarantee approximation even near dielectric permittivity discontinuities. Numerical tests confirm second order of approximation of the proposed scheme.
