Abstract: Abstract This paper attempts to survey of the typical “Hollow Villages” in Xiamen’s off-island area, explore the formation mechanism of the “Hollow Villages”, and to further clarify the interaction between the different elements of this mechanism. Accordingly, to find the governance of this phenomenon of institution system design method, and associated village transformation techniques.
