Chapter Chapter 2 in Dimensions of Teaching Business Ethics in Asia, 2013, pp 9-28 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Jack Welch, the outspoken former chairman of General Electric Co., once summed up his leadership philosophy as follows: “The Welch Theory is those who do, get, and those who don’t, go.” In other words, leadership is all about authority and power and the will to move on, to change and to transform. It is some kind of process that gets people to do something in accordance with the leader’s vision and objectives. And what business leaders want most is prestige, success, and profit. After all, business is no charity.
