Abstract: Abstract This paper reports a survey of the current salary structures and scales of the so-called independent colleges in Hubei province. Some problems are found to exist in the current practices. To address the problems, the paper, from the perspective of relevant labor theories of value, proposes a salary determination model specifically for the independent colleges.
