Abstract: Abstract This study discusses the relationship between risk and performance of the sampling of 12 Taiwanese semiconductor companies during the period of financial crisis. The purpose of this study is to survey the risk response capabilities of upstream and downstream of Taiwanese semiconductor firms. The methods of data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist index are applied to analyze the industry operating efficiency. From the viewpoint of efficiency, this study contributes to the company operation performance assessment before and after the period of financial crisis.
