A chapter in Proceedings of 2013 4th International Asia Conference on Industrial Engineering and Management Innovation (IEMI2013), 2014, pp 697-706 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This paper selects “benchmarking city” for Qinhuangdao from the six major coastal cities in Bohai Rim, based on the analysis of the spatial concentration of tourist flow. Then the comparison of the internal overall condition of the tourism industry of the two cities and analysis of the grey correlation between the internal factors and the tourism income are conducted. The result presents that the gap between Qinhuangdao and the “benchmarking city” is obvious, including infrastructures, tourism products, human resource and urban popularity. This paper puts forward unbalanced development approaches for Qinhuangdao in the fierce competition in Bohai Rim.
