A chapter in Proceedings of 20th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, 2013, pp 369-375 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Due to practical problems of fault diagnosis for computerized numerical control (CNC) machine tools, CNC fault diagnosis expert system based on web is designed. This system makes full use of Jess rule engine, database technology and JSP to realize the diagnosis and operation of CNC fault on the Internet. The application mode of Jess on JAVA platform and its connection problem with JAVA are illustrated emphatically in this paper. Based on this method, Rule-based reasoning (RBR) is successfully applied to the fault diagnosis of CNC. The validity has been proved by the example at the end of this paper.
