Self-Configuration of Physical Cell Identity in LTE Based on Improved GSO Algorithm

Abstract: Abstract Self-organized network (SON) technology has realized LTE high data capacity and rapid transmission, and effectively improves the operating efficiency and network performance. The application of SON technology in LTE physical cell Identity (PCI) configuration process and the PCI assignment problem is studied. The PCI function with SON is analyzed, and a PCI allocation algorithm, named IGSOPA is proposed based on the improved glowworm swarm optimization (IGSO) algorithm. In order to improve the GSO convergence efficiency, an improved GSO is presented. Glowworms are divided into different ethnic groups according to shuffled frog leaping algorithm (SFLA), and the glowworm position update mechanism is proposed based on PSO. Finally, the PCI distribution is simulated, and the simulation results show that, IGSOPA can not only effectively give the PCI allocation scheme, but also improve the utilization ratio of PCI.
