Identification of the Predominant Conflict in Educational Institutes by Using Cook-Seiford’s Method (A Case Study)

Abstract:
Abstract This study is an attempt to introduce the different types of conflict as well as to identify the predominant conflict; i.e., the kind of conflict which occurs most frequently in the organization. The statistical population includes foreign language teaching institutes in Tabriz, Iran. Through the use of Bartlet Table, 46 institutes out of 98 were selected as the research sample by simple random sampling technique. The data collection tool is a questionnaire which is based on the comparison of three possible types of conflict in order to poll the institute managers’ views. For data analysis, Cook-Seiford’s method was used. The results indicate that the relationship conflict occurs the most frequently, and the task conflict and process conflict are ranked second and third, respectively.
