Abstract: Abstract This paper present the findings of post occupancy survey of Sophiatown residence; one of the residence and presently the largest residence in University of Johannesburg Auckland pack campus in Johannesburg, South Africa. The purpose of the paper is to evaluate the extent to which the building is satisfactory to the students. The data were collected during October and November 2012. The primary data for the study was collected through a structured questionnaire survey. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed and 135 were received back from the occupants of the residence. The survey results revealed that a majority of the occupants (students) of the residence were satisfied with most qualities in the residence which makes the residence satisfactory to the students.
