Abstract: Zusammenfassung Das vorhergehende Zwischenkapitel handelte von Gauß’ Auffassung der Rolle der Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften. Wir wenden uns jetzt wieder einem „mnermathematischen“ Thema zu, seiner Freude an numerischen Rechnungen und seinen großen numerischen Fertigkeiten.
