Chapter Chapter 1 in A History of Algebra, 1985, pp 3-31 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract If we want to form an opinion on the scientific value and the sources of the work of al-Khwārizmī, we have to consider not only his treatise on Algebra, but also his other mathematical, astronomical, and calendaric work. The present section will be divided into twelve subsections. Therefore I shall restrict myself to ther most interesting authors, whose main works are available in modern translations, namely A. Al-Khwārizmī, B. Tābit ben Qurra C. Omar Khayyām
