Abstract:
Abstract The word turbulence comes from late Latin “turbulentia” which means “full of commention.” It is defined as a “violent or unsteady movement of air or water, or of some other fluid” (Oxford Dictionary of English 2010). Thus, it is a process that dissipates or mixes. The antonyms are unity or homogeneity: they help us to understand more clearly what turbulence concretely means – turbulence mixes and disperses the medium in which it develops, and then it disappears once homogeneity returns.
