Abstract: Zusammenfassung Als Søren Georg Abel im Sommer 1804 mit seiner Frau und zwei gesunden Söhnen nach Gjerstad zurückkehrte, empfing ihn die Gemeinde mit großer Freude und offenen Armen. Er war 32 Jahre alt und kehrte an jenen Ort zurück, den er für seine Heimat hielt. Seine hübsche Frau Anne Marie war 23 und die Leute in Gjerstad meinten, auch sie in gewisser Weise zu kennen, jedenfalls kannten sie ihren Vater gut.
