Second-Order Equations with Turning Points

Mikhail V. Fedoryuk and Andrew Rodick

Chapter Chapter 4 in Asymptotic Analysis, 1993, pp 168-226 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we consider equations of the form $$y'' + \lambda ^2 q(x,\lambda ^{ - 1} )y = 0,\lambda\to \infty ,$$ which have turning points. We derive asymptotic formulae for the solutions that are applicable in a real or complex neighbourhood of a turning point.
