Abstract:
Abstract The fluid flow and separation behaviour between conical rotating discs in a disc stack centrifuge is studied numerically using computational fluid dynamics. The fluid flow on the one hand is calculated by a Finite-Volume-Method while the separation behaviour is obtained with a Euler-Lagrange-Method. The results of the simulation are in good agreement with experimental data.
