Abstract:
Abstract We introduce the class of groups having a multiplicity-free character graph (MC-groups). This class includes both the class of symmetric and the class of solvable groups. We show that every MC-group has an Sn-like representation theory with generalized standard tableaux as main combinatorial objects. As an illustration, we give a detailed description of the irreducible representations of supersolvable groups.
