Abstract: Abstract In 1998, the Nobel prize in chemistry was awarded to two outstanding figures in the field of quantum molecular science, namely John A. Pople and Walter Kohn. Pople and Kohn had both made important contributions to the field over a few decades, and thus a substantial share of the work which has led to the state-of-the-art in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Chemistry can be traced back to their influence.
