Chapter Chapter 10 in The Method of Fractional Steps, 1971, pp 132-150 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Up to this point the method of fractional steps was considered as a method for the construction of economical difference schemes. Let us now show that the method of fractional steps can also be applied to differential equations. In this case the method can be considered as the method of a weak approximation of special type. We start with the simplest examples.
